The Icitabo Diary #15

We have been making more steady progress this week over here at The Icitabo Project, and we are all working hard in preparation for our YSI Den presentation on the 20th of February.

Three of our members, Patrick Watts, Dylan Duffy and Jack Moylan will be travelling to the DCU campus in Glasnevin in order to present the Icitabo Project before a panel of various prominent figures in the YSI, and we are al looking forward to the help that they will be able to provide to us. If we are successful in our application for financial aid, we will be able to have the fixtures and furniture for the library made by the local carpenters as soon as possible, so that the children of Kabwe will be able to start using their library as soon as the shipping container arrives. We wish all three of our presenters good luck in their efforts!

Our translations committee are also working hard preparing and printing our Bemba version of the children's book "Handa's Surprise". We hope to have these ready as soon as possible, as we would love to be able to hand out paper copies of the book to our audience so that they can see al the great work our translations committee have been doing. As well as this, our communications committee are in the process of contacting the local Tesco Community Fund, in order to see if they can provide our project with any additional financial assistance.

As always, thank you all for your continued support, and don't forget to check out the short film "Memory" from the last Icitabo Diary!

~The Icitabo Team
