We have made some great progress with the Icitabo Project over the Christmas break, and we have some more news to share with you.
Pat Fanning, our correspondent in Kabwe is currently in Ireland, and our communications committee is in the process of arranging a meeting with him as we speak. Also, Our translator Mr. Joseph Mwila Bwembya is making fantastic progress translating our books into Bemba.
Shipping quotes and building prices are also being obtained, and we hope to update you as soon as we have our quotes back. We have also sent in our application to the YSI Den, an initiative like the show , The Dragon's den. In this, we will have to pitch our project to various experts, in an attempt for them to choose to provide financial assistance and mentorship among other things. If we are successful in our application, it will speed up our project immeasurably, and help us to provide our library for the children of Kabwe as soon as we can.
On a more serious topic, it is almost impossible to ignore the hundreds of charity advertisements on air this Christmas, and this brings us onto the even more serious topic of aid this Christmas. Mismanaged aid is a very serious topic, and if you decide to donate this Christmas, we implore you to research the charity properly. One of our communications members wrote an article on this very subject, which you can find in the News section.
We wish you all a Merry Christmas from us here at the Icitabo Project, and as always, thank you for your continued support!
~The Icitabo Team
